Schneider Electric and Liminal Partner to Enable High-Quality EV Battery Production

// Schneider Electric

šŸ”‹ Schneider Electric has partnered with Liminal Insights to tackle challenges in scaling battery manufacturing for the growing electric vehicle market. With EV sales projected to account for 40% of global car sales by 2030, battery demand is expected to increase tenfold.

  • The partnership combines Schneiderā€™s automation expertise with Liminalā€™s ultrasound-based metrology and analytics.

  • The joint solution provides real-time, inline quality inspections for all major battery chemistries, enabling early detection of production deviations.

  • Liminalā€™s EchoStat solution can reduce battery scrap rates, with a 1% reduction potentially saving $10 million annually for a 10 GWh plant.

  • The system also shortens the cell-finishing process and cuts costs further, while using energy-efficient, radiation-free ultrasound technology.

This collaboration aims to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and support the market growth of electric vehicles, whilst also improving sustainability and safety.
