Tesla’s Model Y Juniper to start Production in January

🚗 Tesla is gearing up for mass production of a refreshed Model Y at its Shanghai factory, according to LatePost. This revamp includes changes to the interior, exterior, battery, motor, and self-driving features.
The Model Y, Tesla’s bestseller in China, saw 418,428 units delivered in 2023 (January-November), accounting for 72.87% of Tesla’s Chinese deliveries.
Minor updates were introduced to the Model Y in October 2023, but the significant redesign, codenamed Juniper, is planned for 2025.
Giga Shanghai, Tesla’s largest production hub, will also add a six-seat Model Y by late 2025.
The previously refreshed Model 3 featured a sleeker design, enhanced suspension, and a 713-km range.
Furthermore, Tesla is reportedly preparing suppliers for a substantial increase in Model Y production as part of these updates.

ChargePoint and GM to Accelerate EV Infrastructure Growth

🔋 ChargePoint and General Motors have announced a collaboration to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the United States. The partnership aims to install hundreds of ultra-fast charging stations at key locations by the end of 2025.
The initiative features ChargePoint’s Omni Port system, accommodating CCS and NACS connectors without adapters, and the high-speed Express Plus platform offering up to 500kW charging.
ChargePoint CEO, Rick Wilmer, highlighted the importance of seamless charging infrastructure in driving EV mobility.
GM Energy’s VP, Wade Sheffer, emphasised how the partnership enhances charging options, addressing key barriers to EV ownership and improving convenience.
A targeted incentive programme will simplify the process for third-party operators to manage these stations.
This collaboration represents a significant step in supporting EV infrastructure, ensuring more accessible, reliable, and efficient charging options for drivers nationwide.
CLEAN ENERGY
Iberdrola and the EIB sign €100 Million Green Loan

☀️ The European Investment Bank, Iberdrola, and SACE have partnered on a €100 million green loan to build a photovoltaic plant in Sicily, advancing EU climate goals and Italy’s renewable energy ambitions.
The plant, spanning Enna and Catania, will generate 242.78 MWp of clean energy, powering approximately 154,000 households annually.
The project is backed by SACE’s guarantee scheme, which supports Italy’s economic growth through renewable initiatives.
EIB Vice-President, Gelsomina Vigliotti, and SACE CEO, Alessandra Ricci, highlighted the initiative’s contributions to sustainability, competitiveness, and job creation.
Iberdrola Italy CEO, Valerio Faccenda, emphasised the project's role in Italy's energy transition and its economic and environmental benefits.
Set to open in 2025, the plant integrates advanced, sustainable technologies, paving the way for similar projects aimed at accelerating the transition to clean energy.

Tobii Secures two new DMS Design Wins

The latest design wins enhance vehicle safety, comfort, and user experience with Tobii’s innovative interior sensing solutions.
A prior design win with the same Tier 1 supplier recently extended to an additional OEM, further demonstrating Tobii’s industry credibility.
Anand Srivatsa, Tobii’s CEO, highlighted the company's ability to meet stringent automotive standards and its growing influence in the market.
Tobii Autosense technology now features in over 550,000 vehicles, underscoring its role in advancing automotive safety and comfort.
